Selecting the right temperature probe-to-readout adapter
A temperature probe is typically ordered with a termination that matches the calibration equipment it will be used with. For example, a 5615 Secondary Standard PRT used with a 914X Field Metrology Well would be ordered with a type A termination (INFO-CON DIN 6-pin).
If you want to use this 5615 probe with a different readout like a 1524 Reference Thermometer that does not accept a type A termination, what do you do? Check out our Probe-to-Readout Adapter Guide » to see which adapter is needed. The guide includes photos of the probe terminations and the adapters.
Refer to the table in the guide to find the cell where the probe termination row intersects the readout column. For this example, a probe with a type A termination connecting to a 1523/1524 Thermometer would require a 2388-P adapter.
In cases where an adapter is not available to connect a probe and readout combination, a custom probe adapter may be available on request. Contact your Fluke sales representative » regarding custom probe adapters.
We hope this guide will be a handy reference to identify the right adapter for connecting probe terminations to readouts. Read it now:
