The most accurate, comprehensive and flexible power and energy signal source
In 2002 Fluke introduced the 6100A and 6101A power standards .
This time, the 6100B and 6105A have been released as successor models to the 6100A and 6101A. The new model has the same power quality and accuracy as its predecessor and well meets the accuracy requirements of current power quality test standards. Accuracy is even better, Rivaling even the best sine wave instruments.
Few systems can match the 0.007% (66 ppm) one-year accuracy of a sine wave supplied by the 6105A. Waveform accuracy with harmonic distortion is comparable, and traceability to national and international standards is guaranteed.
Choose the 6100B or 6105A depending on your required accuracy requirements .The 6100B can also be used for type testing 0.1-2% energy meters. We
recommend the 6105A if you are looking for the best possible accuracy for secondary standard, power meter calibration, and type testing. such as Radian Research, Zera, and MTE.
Wide Range of Calibration Targets
The 6105A and 6100B are compatible with a wide range of electrical instruments, including:
- AC voltmeter
- AC ammeter
- Current transformer
- flicker meter
- phase meter
- power factor meter
- power analyzer
- power recorder
- power converter
- VA meter
- VAR meter
- voltage converter
- Wattmeter (3 or 4 wires)
- electricity meter
- others
Areas where 6105A/6100B are needed
Power quality and energy measurements, and verification of the equipment that performs them, are required in many areas, including:
- Output of accurate non-sinusoidal signals and phantom power in various research fields at national metrology institutes.
- Verification of functionality and accuracy of prototypes and initial production products in research and development fields.
- In manufacturing inspections, confirmation that the measurement results are correct and that the same results are obtained for all production units.
- Guaranteed performance specifications for the life of the instrument in service and calibration.
- Calibration of secondary standards used in the calibration of mass-produced power quality and energy meters in standards laboratories.
With the 6105A and 6100B , processes such as those described above can be performed efficiently and quickly, even by inexperienced users. A wide array of power quality signals can be output independently and simultaneously with varying accuracy for up to four phases .
Using the 6105A/6100B makes power calibration more practical and expands the scope of possible work. The new model is also more flexible than the 6100A. Traditionally, a three-phase system requires one 6100A master unit and two 6101A auxiliary units. master units can be configured as auxiliary units by simply reconfiguring the communication cables. In addition to the existing 80A option, a new 50A option has been added. With the 50A option, all current ranges can be output from the same terminal.
Phantom Power (Imaginary Load)
The 6105A and 6100B output voltages up to 1008 V and currents up to 21 A with pure sine waves.Since a maximum of 50 VA of power can be output from the voltage terminal, it is compatible with equipment that obtains power from the power line to be measured, and equipment where the voltage circuits of multiple devices are connected in parallel. In addition, the compliance voltage of the current output terminal is up to 14 V, which ensures that current is supplied even through long cables , connectors, switches, and current circuits where multiple devices are connected in series. An auxiliary voltage can also be output from the current output terminal, allowing simulation of signals generated by transducers and current probes.50A and 80A options allow for higher current outputs.
The 6105A/6100B displays have user-settable values for voltage, current, and phase angle, as well as active power (W), apparent power (VA), reactive power (VAR), and power factor (PF). The 6105A and 6100B allow you to choose from seven non-sinusoidal reactive power calculation methods .
When the 6105A/6100B are connected with a 3-phase Y connection or a 3-phase 3-wire delta connection, you can select whether to view VA, power, and VAR for each phase or for all three phases . values are also displayed if IEC or NEMA is selected as the calculation method. This mode of operation allows the 6100B to calibrate or verify power, VA, VAR phase angle, power factor, voltage and current measurements on single or multi-phase equipment .
Resolution and Accuracy
The 6100B can set a new standard in power standard accuracy. Voltage and current are generated with a maximum resolution of 6 digits and an accuracy of 0.005% (50 ppm) or less. Phase adjustment is possible in 1 millidegree, 10 micro radian increments. Phase performance is exceptional, with 3 millidegrees accuracy for the 6100B and 2.3 millidegrees for the 6105A. Phase-to-phase accuracy in polyphase systems is 5 millidegrees.
Complex Signals
The 6105A and 6100B can output various complex signals, such as:
- flicker
- harmonic
- dips and swells
- interharmonic
- fluctuating harmonics
- Concurrent execution of multiple applications
Multi-Phase Operation
The 6105A and 6100B are capable of single-phase operation with one voltage output and one current output using only the master unit. By adding the auxiliary unit 6105A/6100B, multi-phase operation is also possible. The auxiliary unit has the same performance as the master unit, but is priced lower than the master unit because it does not have control buttons. Up to four phases can be added. In addition, the 6105A/6100B are more flexible than ever, allowing master units to be easily configured as auxiliary units as well. In a polyphase system, each phase is completely independent of each other and electrically isolated, yet synchronized with and under the control of the master unit. Therefore, applications where phase imbalance is required can be easily implemented. The 6105A/6100B polyphase system must be connected with a 4-wire wye connection. Simulation of 3-phase 3-wire delta and 3-phase 4-wire delta can be easily performed by changing the settings from the user interface.
80 A and 50 A Options
There are two high current options, 80 A and 50 A. The 80 A option outputs 8 A to 80 A of current from a 10 mm socket. Standard current range current is not output from this terminal. The 50 A option outputs 0 A to 50 A current, also from a 10 mm socket. With the 50 A option, you can choose to have all the current output through the 10 mm socket, or use the regular terminals for the 0 A to 21 A range output.
Energy Option
The energy option adds a comparator to the 6105A and 6100B. You can set a "constant" for each of the 6 input channels and select a reference from among these. With the 6100B it is sometimes better to use an external reference standard, but the power accuracy of the 6105A is as good as any external device. Power measurements are compared to reference values and the percent error reported for each device under test.
CLK option
The CLK option gets the following reference signals from the rear panel. See Reference Signals section below.
Reference signal
systems are usually synchronized with a common clock signal, especially when sampling. The 6105A/6100B outputs signals such as:
- Phase Reference: A CMOS logic signal whose rising edge is synchronous with the negative-to-positive zero-crossing point of the fundamental voltage. li>
- Sample Reference: CMOS logic signal synchronized with internal sampling. Used to synchronize sampling equipment for system calibration. li>
- Reference signal output (selectable only with CLK option): TTL-compliant 10 MHz or 20 MHz reference output signal from the system's master clock.
Prevents inrush current in equipment that derives power from a soft start voltage signal. Output ramp-up time can be selected from 0 to 10 seconds.
IEC61036 and IEC62053
6105A and 6100B are pre-installed with waveforms required by standards related to type testing and accumulator calibration.
User Interface
The 6105A and 6100B use the Microsoft Windows® user interface for easy operation. Operation can be done via front panel knobs and buttons or by connecting a mouse and keyboard, and results are displayed on a high-resolution 8-inch TFT display. The display shows more detailed information about the current parameter set or adjusted along with the status of all four phases. The display shows the frequency domain and time domain of the current signal, allowing you to evaluate the effect of control settings before applying the signal to the output terminals. Help window at the bottom of the display Displays status-sensitive control information and error messages to guide you through instrument setup. The 6105A and 6100B can also be operated remotely. When operating in a polyphase system, control of the auxiliary units is through the master unit. Both models comply with IEEE 488.1 and IEEE 488.2 standards. The programming language is SCPI (Standard Commands for Programmable Instruments) compliant. Complex settings can be saved to the instrument or USB memory device and recalled later.
