Fluke takes flight

The peace and quiet of living on 10 acres is just amazing. When I go out and call in the horses, they trust me to feed them every day. Trust is…it’s not something given, but it’s something earned.

I’ve always, always worked with my hands. When I started in the airline business I really just wanted to turn wrenches on aircraft. And at the time, the manager said “I need you to be the tool man when you’re not working on a service aircraft.” And I said “As long as I get to play with airplanes that’s all that matters.”

My name is Pete Burgio. I’m the lead technician for the calibration lab for a major airline here in Houston Texas. I’m a Fluke customer. I can trust their tools and their customer support is Johnny on the spot. I haven’t seen a better product, more reliable product, and that’s why I keep going back to Fluke. I do trust them; that’s a pretty good feeling. You know, it makes you want to go to work, makes you want to do a better job.

Calibration is a very, very big world. The general public really has no behind-the-scenes knowledge of what it takes to make that aircraft safe and ready to go on time. Here at the Vickery Cal Lab, we cover all the disciplines. My team and myself, we make it happen. They are upmost, professional calibration technicians. That tool will not go out the door until it meets the original manufacturer’s specification, giving my end user the best tool and making it be the best in the industry.

Whatever it takes, I’m here to help. That’s the bottom line. That trust, so important to make that aircraft reliable and safe. We keep getting better and better with the help and support from Fluke.

What I want to do is, I want to leave the best calibration lab possible for the next generation. That’s my goal.
